<xml:Pad/> is a small yet powerful XML editor based on the unique custom-developed XML parser engine designed in accordance with the published W3C standards by WMHelp.com. <xml:Pad/> is a basic version of the WMHelp.com eGenerator development solution, distributed under the freeware license.

<xml:Pad/> features included:
- powerful XML and DTD editor with color syntax highlighting, element range navigation and context-dependent code-completing wizard;
- editing the DTD and XML using the tree and properties views, synchronized with the regular editor navigation;
- editing XML using state of the art Grid View and preview in the built-in browser window;
- on-demand and online validation for DTD schema and XML files against the underlying DTD schemas;
- auto-formatting the document;
- generation the DTD schema from XML file and sample XML file from the DTD;
- opening URL files as well as validation against the external DTD schemas;

WMHelp.com <xml:Pad/> has a simple yet powerful intuitive workspace. The toolbar and menu which are placed on top of the design area at program start can be easily managed to display or hide quick-access buttons. The Property Editor and Document Outliner can be easily hided by moving the panel divider to the left side of workspace. By switching Design View buttons in the bottom of the Designer Area you may simply switch the current view.

Designer Area displays the contents of an open file and allows user to edit it using different Design Views. The toolbar with currently opened files is placed on top of designer area. You can switch the opened file by the slicking on the appropriate tab.
Designer Area contain the context-sensitive syntax-highlighter editor with current range indicator on the left, which shows the range of the current element, as well as the context depend code-completer in accordance with underlying document schema.

XML Grid View was designed to combine the functionality of the XML Document Outliner with XML value editor which allow to simplify the editing the XML data.
